该试验鉴定是否存在化脓性链球菌，也叫A群β -溶血性链球菌和A群链球菌属的感染。 A群链球菌可以感染咽喉后部（咽），导致最常见的细菌性咽喉炎（喉咙痛）——“链球菌性喉炎”。
测试样本如何采集？
医生，护士或其他专业医疗保健人员用压舌板压住受试者的舌头，然后用咽拭子从扁桃体和咽喉后部的采样。咽拭子可用于医生办公室或诊所链球菌快速快速检测，也可以将其送往实验室进行链球菌快速检测和/或培养。
