检测什么？
乳糜泻检测是一组有助于诊断乳糜泻及其它谷蛋白过敏性疾病的实验。这些实验检测的是自身抗体，即人体产生的对饮食中蛋白质不正常的免疫反应物质，这些蛋白包括小麦、黑麦和大麦（谷蛋白和醇溶蛋白）。过去，诊断乳糜泻的唯一方法是对小肠进行组织活检。现在该方法仍被认为是诊断乳糜泻的金标准并一直作为确诊乳糜泻的手段，但采用侵入性伤害小的血液实验筛查乳糜泻减少了组织活检应用。自身抗体实验包括：

乳糜泻血液检测均是测量血液中某种特定自身抗体的含量。对于每个检测而言，IgG和IgA 都能被检测，但有些实验室提供的IgG检测不是针对醇溶蛋白的。IgG和IgA是免疫系统对能探测到的威胁所产生的五种抗体蛋白中的两种。
一般而言，IgA 抗体对乳糜泻具有更高的特异性（由于IgA抗体是肠道中产生的一类抗体）并且几乎完全被检测到。IgG检测在IgA的检测需要补充时或者部分患者IgA抗体完全缺失时进行。约2%的乳糜泻会有这种情况发生并导致假阴性的检测结果。
